DAF Expands Its Range
For vehicles with GVWR up to 52 tonnes, DAF Trucks strengthens its offering with a factory-developed and produced 10×4 chassis. This new model, designed for intensive construction operations, combines high payload capacity with exceptional maneuverability thanks to a perfectly optimized five-axle design.
The new FAF 10×4 chassis has a GVWR of 52 tonnes and features a robust five-axle architecture. It integrates two front axles of 8 or 9 tonnes with leaf-spring suspension, and a triple rear axle of 34 tonnes on pneumatic suspension. This tridem includes a tandem drive (available with single or hub reduction) and an electro-hydraulically controlled liftable tag axle, an ideal combination for traction power, stability, and agility on construction sites.
The tridem liftable tag axle, designed for a static load of 26 tonnes, is particularly useful for operations involving tipping bodies or heavy containers, where the total vehicle weight may temporarily rest on the rear axle.
The FAF 10×4 chassis can be equipped with PACCAR MX-11 or MX-13 engines, known for their efficiency and reliability. Paired with the automated TraXon transmission, these engines provide power ranging from 300 hp (220 kW) to 530 hp (390 kW), ensuring performance suitable for all types of heavy-duty applications.
Available in XD and XF versions, the new 10×4 benefits from a safety-oriented cab design: inclined dashboard, wide windows, and an optional side window ensure excellent direct visibility. For indirect visibility, DAF Digital Vision, DAF Corner View, and rear-view cameras provide unmatched panoramic vision around the vehicle, drastically reducing blind spots.
The new DAF FAF 10×4 is now available for order through the DAF network, which includes over 1,100 official dealers across Europe.
