Komatsu Introduces the PC20E-6 Electric Mini-Excavator

Komatsu présente la mini-pelle électrique PC20E-6

Komatsu announces the arrival of the PC20E-6, an electric mini-excavator designed to operate for a full workday. It is ideal for conventional construction sites, noise-sensitive areas, and indoor environments where zero emissions are required.

Equipped with an 11.8 kW motor, a 23.3 kWh battery, and an operational weight of 2,110 kg, the PC20E-6 was developed in Europe with a Komatsu transmission. It is supported by the Komatsu E-Support program, which includes periodic maintenance, a 3-year/2,000-hour warranty on hybrid components, and a 5-year/10,000-hour warranty on the electric drivetrain.

Data analysis from 40,000 workdays allowed Komatsu to size the machine according to real-world usage: most mini-excavators operate less than 3 hours and 30 minutes per day. Depending on operating mode, autonomy ranges from 3 hours 20 minutes to 4 hours. Charging can be done via standard power supply or fast charger.

The PC20E-6 also features reduced maintenance thanks to the elimination of certain operations associated with diesel engines, and an ID key system that simplifies fleet management. With a recyclability rate of 99%, it is well-suited for projects with high environmental standards.

“The Komatsu E-Support program accompanies each electric mini-excavator and provides a monitoring framework for the operator,” says Emanuele Viel, Group Manager Utility at Komatsu Europe.
