Develon Launches New Electric Excavator Range: Same Performance, Zero Emissions
Develon (formerly Doosan Construction Equipment) is expanding its portfolio with a new range of electric excavators, offering the same performance as diesel models but with zero emissions.
While electric construction equipment still represents a small share of the market, regions such as the Benelux and Nordic countries are seeing rapid growth due to regulations and public demand. Develon’s new electric machines respond directly to this trend, enabling contractors to transition from diesel to electric efficiently.
Built on the proven Develon Series 7 platform, the initial electric range covers mini, wheeled, and tracked excavators:
- Mini Excavators: DX20ZE-7, DX23E-7, DX85RE-7
- Wheeled Excavators (10–20 t): DX100WE-7, DX160WE-7K
- Tracked Excavators (20 t+): DX230LCE-7, DX250LCE-7
The DX160WE-7K features a 105 kW permanent magnet motor and LiFePO₄ battery, offering around 10 hours of operation. The DX230LCE-7 delivers about 9 hours per charge, while the DX250LCE-7 extends autonomy up to 12 hours for larger applications. All models match the performance and handling of their diesel counterparts while reducing noise and vibrations, making them suitable for urban sites.
Develon’s electrification approach combines practical innovation with strategic collaboration. By working closely with European battery and drive suppliers, the company ensures its electric machines meet current operational demands. An agile, market-focused development process allows Develon to bring these machines to market efficiently and reliably.
With this launch, Develon provides a ready-to-use solution for contractors seeking low-emission equipment, supporting the ongoing shift in Europe toward sustainable construction practices.
