BIA Group Expands European Footprint with BPM Construction Acquisition

BIA Group has strengthened its presence in Europe with the acquisition of BPM Construction, a well-established French distributor of equipment for the construction and extractive industries. The move marks a new strategic milestone for the international group, combining global reach with strong local expertise in the French market.

An international player in the distribution of equipment for construction, mining, quarries, energy, transport and recycling, BIA Group adds BPM Construction (formerly SAMI TP) to its growing European network. The acquisition enhances BIA’s position in Europe while expanding the range of solutions and services available to French customers.

Founded more than 120 years ago, BIA Group is a long-standing distributor of Komatsu and Metso equipment, operating in Belgium, Luxembourg and over 15 African countries. The group is recognized for its high value-added after-sales services, including maintenance, spare parts supply, technical training, telematics and fleet management solutions.

BPM Construction employs more than 100 people across six sites in western France, Nantes, Rennes, Bordeaux, Caen, Niort and Châteaulin and represents brands such as Komatsu, Metso and Kiverco. Its integration into BIA Group ensures continuity of local technical support while unlocking access to the resources of an international organization.

“Aligned with our vision, this acquisition is a key step in reinforcing our European presence and deepening our collaboration with Komatsu and Metso,” said Romain Bia, CEO of BIA Group. “Our priority remains delivering high quality after-sales service and creating value for our customers.”

Frédéric Hermant, General Manager of BPM Construction, added: “Joining BIA Group allows us to offer our clients the best of both worlds: local proximity and field expertise, combined with the strength of an international group.”
