Komatsu Europe Strengthens Its Distribution Network in the UK
Komatsu Europe has unveiled a significant overhaul of its commercial organization in the United Kingdom, marking a new step in its growth strategy for the market. The changes, subject to regulatory approval, are set to take effect in early 2026.
Distribution Transfer Planned for 2026
From January 2026, distribution activities currently handled by Marubeni-Komatsu Ltd. (MKL) will be transferred to McHale Plant Sales Ltd. Operating under the new name McHale Komatsu, the company will take charge of sales, distribution and after-sales services for Komatsu construction and utility equipment across the UK. Already an established Komatsu distributor in Ireland, McHale aims to ensure continuity for British customers while strengthening local expertise and support.
Strategic Acquisition and Capital Investment
As part of the transition, McHale Plant Sales will acquire MKL, reinforcing its operational footprint in the UK. To support the move and secure long-term stability, Komatsu Europe will also take a minority stake in McHale Plant Sales, underlining its commitment to the British market.
